Janelle Foligno, a registered teacher with the OCDSB, has begun to implement a 6 week (one visit per week) curriculum based program for grade 7, 8.
A pep rally to introduce the program is being offered and a buddy-up program to educate the younger students will be implemented.
F.A.B. Women have selected Hopewell as
the first charity of choice in the inaugural fundraising initiative.

2012 Charity of Choice: Hopewell
Hopewell Eating Disorder Support Centre is the recipient charity of funds raised through the F.A.B. Women Ottawa event and the school program fundraiser.
Hopewell , a not-for profit registered charitable organization has become the go to place for information on and support for those affected by eating disorders. It provides hope, support and information to individuals struggling with eating disorders and to their family and friends.
As the only eating disorder support centre in the region Hopewell is the sole support available to people looking for information on how to navigate the system, find professional help and gain hope for recovery. Families and individuals learn positive coping skills to use in recovery from an eating disorder.
Hopewell receives no ongoing or government funding, and relies entirely on the community for support.

FAB Women Ottawa Cocktail Gala
On Monday, February 6, a SOLD OUT crowd was at the
Westin Hotel. Just over 500 women enjoyed amazing food and friends while watching the fashion show presented by Three Wild Women and Queen Mother Maternity .
Many guests had a chance to learn about Hopewell, massage therepy, women empowerment and much more on the F.A.B. lane.
Others had a chance to get your photo taken on the red carpet or on a Harley Davidson motorcyle.
Honorary Chair, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau did a fabulous job speaking to the crowd about her insprirational story of surival.
Guests were also treated to live entertainment by Amanda Rheaume and Kimberley Dunn along with young Maddi Lyn.
Executive Director and Founder, Jenn Graves along with Ingrid Meza- McDonald ,Media and Communuications Manager and Janelle Foligno, Education Manager will continue to develop F.A.B. as it moves forward.

On January 14,2012 people of all different ages and backgrounds joined us at Billings Bridge Shopping Centre to celebrate themselves.
Each person wrote a message they wanted to shout out to the world and to remind themsleves.
The messages were powerful and a reminder to all that we are all important, strong and loved.
" What makes me different is what makes me beatuiful"..." I love me!" ... " I love my curves"...
"I love F.A.B. Women..." I am a powerful person"...." Dream Big"...
Many people came in response to our twitter and facebook messages and some just happened to be there and joined in on the movement and positive message.
School Dance and Educational Program
We are pleased to announce our school program has reached capacity for this school year. Registered schools will receive one FREE dance sponsored by Quality Entertainment.
Dance / Fundraiser
Open to all schools from Oct 1, 2011 to June 22, 2012. Quality Entertainment will bring in a D.J. and equipment to hold a dance. Schools will raise funds with 50% going to your school and 50% to F.A.B. Women.

Jennifer Graves
Executive Director, Founder
Jennifer Graves has enjoyed a career in fundraising, event planning, and community programming specializing in children, youth and families. After graduating from Algonquin College in Ottawa with honours in Recreation Leadership and management she went on to work at Minto, managing camps and recreation programs. She continued this focus at the National Capital YMCA-YWCA at the Nepean campus.
She developed into a fundraiser at the Heart and Stroke Foundation where she managed the school initiatives, Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart. She was named Ontario East representative for the school programs at the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She is in her fifth season at the Sens Foundation, where she oversees up to 80 grass root events in support of Rogers House and the Sens Foundation.
Her mission is to provide outreach programs that will educate and empower others to open their hearts to becoming free from poor body image, eating disorders and disorderd eating. Her dream is to one day see a new centre built in Ottawa that provides treatment, counselling and therapy for people and their families who need tools for self love.
Jennifer is a survivor of a 25 year history with eating disorders, poor body image and disordered eating. She credits F.A.B. as a stepping stone for her return to good health and letting go and becoming free as a bird!

Ingrid Meza-McDonald
Media and Communications Manager
Ingrid Meza-McDonald specializes in Sponsorship Marketing with the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club. A graduate of the Business Marketing program at Algonquin College, she has extensive experience in sponsorship activation, marketing programs, communications and
social media.
Ingrid has provided leadership across a variety of fields including sports marketing, social media outreach programs, toy and entertainment distribution industies. She has also launched a community diaper drive in collaboration with Queen Mother Maternity and has been recognized for her time and dedication in leadership of the annual Canadian Forces Appreciation night and Canadian Blood Services marketing program with the Ottawa Senators.
Ingrid volunteers for the International Association of Business Communications, as well as for various Sens Foundation events. She is proud to be part of a positive change and to increase awareness of eating disorders and self-esteem issues women are faced with every day.
Janelle Foligno
Educational Manager
Janelle Foligno has enjoyed three years of teaching French Immersion to children at the primary level. This year, in an attempt to focus on personal health and to share her experiences with others, she will work as a supply teacher and volunteer in schools.
Janelle graduated from Sudbury's Laurentian University with a degree in French amd English Literature as well as a Bachelor of Education. She can often be found volunteering her time for various charities through the Sens Foundation and the Ottawa Senators. She shares a common hope to promote positive body image and self love, while working to bring awareness to youth about eating disorders.
Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau
Honorary Chair of FAB Women Cocktail Gala
A former national television host and media personality, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau has been a part of the canadian cultural and entertainment scene for many years. She has hosted and contributed to a variety of television and radio shows in Quebec and across Canada.
A true inspiration to community volunteers everywhere, Sophie has been the spokesperson and guest speaker for many causes and mostly those related to women and children. She has lent her voice to organizations such as The Dove "Pay Beauty Forward" Program, Girls for the Cure, the Weekend to End Breast Cancer, The Womens Heart and Stroke Association, The Canadian Cancer Association, The Vagina Monologues, WaterCan and the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Sophie is a national ambassador for Plan Canada's " Because I am a Girl" initiative and the official spokesperson for the Shield of Athena, a non-profit organization for women and children who are victims of domestic abuse.
Sophie attended the 2010 Governor General's Womens Conference and recently hosted the United Nations-Women Canada luncheon here in Ottawa.
And as a mother of two, every day, she strives to make our world a better place for all.
Sophie has also lent her voice to Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association- BANA
